First Europe Project’s aim is to bring prehistoric society closer to contemporary audiences by placing the unique European archaeological heritage of Lepenski Vir, Serbia in a new context. We will explore three themes with new interpretations, focusing on social relations, issues, and processes that are still evolving today. We are looking for artists from Serbia, Hungary and Italy who are engaged in the topics of nature, tradition, history of humanity and cultural heritage.

Open call for artists at IICCA – DemArt
Under the DemArt project, IICCA is looking for individual artists/ artist groups / collectives who wish to contribute to the community of the 7th district of Budapest through developing an art piece. Artistic projects can be proposed from, and involve any artistic discipline (visual, performing, sound, mixed etc.) but must contain long-lasting impact and engagement for the local community. Submitted projects will be assessed by a group of art commissioners from the local community.

Art residency – ECHO Academy
The Echo Academies Artist Residency, conducted from September 4 to September 24, 2023, was a comprehensive and transformative international program that revolved around the exploration of Budapest’s urban industrial heritage between 1860 and 1960. This event brought together ten exceptionally talented artists who embarked on a unique and inspiring creative journey. It was designed to empower artists with the knowledge, skills, and creative energy needed to bring their artistic projects to life, particularly within the context of Budapest’s industrial history.

The first topic of the workshop series of our Young Climate Campaigners project is the Ludwig Museum’s exhibition ‘Handle with Care’, which explores the theme of care with the tools of contemporary art.
Final Event – HoME
On September 19, 2023 the HoME project presented one of the final phases of its creative metamorphosis at the Bethlen Téri Theatre in Budapest, where viewers got to immerse themselves in a unique interactive multi-sensory experience, taking them on a journey through the results of this exciting three-year project. The project was designed to explore the concept of home through the eyes and voices of 12 young artists (three from each of the four participating countries) representing different artistic genres and disciplines.

Weaving the first threads of the SPARSE Plus Rural Touring Tapestry: Kick Off Meeting in Marche, Italy October 2-6
Between October 2-6, all the partners of the SPARSE Plus Project and their local promoters travelled by train, plane, bus, and car from all corners of Europe to converge in the charming little village of Ascoli Piceno in Marche, Italy, which set the scene for us to collectively kickoff the exciting 4-year journey that lies ahead of us! Coming all the way from Sweden, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Germany, Romania, Hungary, and other parts of Italy, we got the chance finally meet each other in the physical world and build bonds that will come to form the cornerstone of this remarkable project!
