Exploring Borsod: TeatRom Festival 2024
In this summer, our dedicated Sparse PLUS – Supporting & Promoting Arts in Rural Settlements of Europe professional team embarked on a tour of the five municipalities where the SPARSE Plus TeatRom Festival will take place (Alsóvadász, Sajókaza and Borsodbóta) this mid-October. This early visit was essential to ensure everything is set for an amazing event.
Selected artists of The Big Green project yearly theme ‘SOIL’
Soil is one of the most sensitive and large organs on this planet. Disturbed ecosystems as well as disturbed balances are reflected in its deteriorating quality. Polluted soils, deforestation, degraded soil, conflict over resources, and agricultural monoculture: a lot of the climate change processes that are occurring can be linked to soil. At the same time, soil stores more than three times the amount of carbon than there is present in the atmosphere. Wetlands can be more effective carbon sinks than forests and a thriving soil improves the resilience against climate change, biodiversity and water quality.

If the answer to any or all of the above questions is yes, we welcome you to our environmental courtyard with forest walks, meditation exercises, prehistoric opera, roundtable discussions and organic tastings.
VIR – Opera Hackathon
VIR is an opera hackathon, which is based on the concept of open work with parts containing verbal instructions, sheet music – classical music notes and graphic symbols. The improvisational parts will be carried out within the “already prepared” sound-painting live composing language. In addition the artists use specially reconstructed or newly created instruments made for this occasion by the amazing Bélaműhely.
Towards Stronger Peripheries – Report from the Stronger Peripheries project conference in Belgrade
The PP Arts pillar strives to create learning, development, and networking opportunities for local artists and professionals through international collaborations. To this end, we invited students from Károli Gáspár Reformed University’s theatre studies program to join the Stronger Peripheries project conference in Belgrade, which explores theatre and social theory.
