LeCAKE Train – Ending a project with many new beginnings
LeCAKE: Common Art Knowledge Europe was a project supported by Erasmus+ that focused on the role of the cultural sector in the ecological transition. Running for two years, from October 2022 – October 2024, the project united seven cultural organisations and a think tank to build a common base of knowledge, skills and resources. The project had four phases, moving from knowledge-creation towards hands-on, practical models, methods and tools. Máté Tenke, former project manager and head of sustainability team at Pro Progressione share with us his experiences of the project:
TBG Food for Thought: ‘the world must develop sustainably if we are all to survive’
With our flagship project, The Big Green, we are bringing environmentally-engaged artists under one large-scale umbrella initiative and experiment with innovative ways of using art to promote sustainability. But what does it mean for us on a personal level? We asked our partners to write us a few lines about what art and sustainability and their relationship mean to them. Now, let us share the thoughts of Simana Markovska (Interpret Europe):
LIFE Bauhausing Europe – ideas contest – award ceremony
Today was a day of celebration for the Bethlen Téri Színház as we officially announced the results of our LIFE Bauhausing Europe project’s Ideas Contest in Erzsébetváros. A special feature of the competition was that, in addition to the young Hungarian architects, a Spanish team also submitted an entry, and their idea won them third place.
THE SCHOOL OF ENOUGH – selected artists
We are happy to announce the four selected applications for the School of Enough programme of our TBG partner, Rosendal Theater, which will run from November 2024 until October 2026.
A total of 28 project applications have been received, from 14 different countries. We were impressed by the quality and the relevance of the projects we received and wished we’d have had the means to invite at least twice as many to take part in the programme! We hope to be able to involve the applicants who have not been selected to some of the activities and will be working towards building up our capacities and scope in order to enable this.
TBG Food for Thought: The right to explore nature as “everyman’s right” – shouldn’ it be universal?
With our flagship project, The Big Green, we are bringing environmentally-engaged artists under one large-scale umbrella initiative and experiment with innovative ways of using art to promote sustainability. But what does it mean for us on a personal level? We asked our partners to write us a few lines about what art and sustainability and their relationship mean to them. CCS&Sustainability – Survey
Sustainability is a pressing issue of our age and for generations to come. Cultural sustainability has become a growing priority within sustainable development agendas, and is now considered as the fourth pillar, essential (or even prerequisite) to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
