The RE-PATCHED project revives Bogusław Schaeffer’s legacy, bridging Eastern and Western European cultural heritage.

Collective artists / Daniel Matej (SK), Elia Moretti (IT), Gerard Lebik (PL), Ljubomir Nikolic (SR), Orsolya Kaincz (HU), Petr Vrba (CZ),  / explore Bogusław Schaeffer’s unconventional methods, preserving and passing on his influence to young composers in experimental and contemporary music. The artistic team will be joined by the Youth Ensemble, selected through an international Open Call / (Aleksandra Wtorek (PL), Anežka Matoušková (CZ), Marcell Csuka (HU), Maria Rašić (SR), Pavol Béreš (SK). 

In operation with our partners Art Ritam from Serbia, The Mlok Association from Prague, ISCM Slovak Section from Bratislava, IN SITU Contemporary Art Foundation from Warsaw; we will implement the project through activities happening in November 2023 and throughout 2024. 

After the research phase during the two-week residency in Serbia the musicians will have a chance to learn, confront and experiment with Bogusław Schaeffer’s unique compositional methods with an artistic team of experts and researchers. In addition to realising Schaeffer’s works, the artistic team with the Youth Ensemble will also compose new pieces, which will be performed in Hungary as part of the Transparent Sound New Music Festival. 

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Fund from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
