🌊Imagine diving down an ancient shipwreck, where every object and detail is real – for the first time you can experience the thrill of underwater archaeology in a virtual game!
🌊In this public event, we would like to present the CREAMARE international project, launched in 2023. The project involves the 3D documentation and virtual presentation of important sites of underwater archaeology, and the integration of these technologies into a game – giving a glimpse into one of the possible futures of archaeology.
🌊In the game, players have the opportunity to visit underwater heritage sites, which are displayed in highly realistic 3D in the game. Through virtual dives, the player solves puzzles and challenges to learn about both UCH (underwater cultural heritage sites: shipwrecks, artefacts, sunken cities, ancient trade routes) and the environmental threats to the oceans (oil pollution from shipwrecks, ghost nets, illegal fishing, unsustainable shipping practices).
🌊After the presentation of the project, participants will have the opportunity to try out the computer-developed test version of the game on real heritage sites developed in the CREAMARE project.
