You might have came across the ‘New European Bauhaus’ term a lot of times on social media. That is one of the recent trending topics when it comes to EU Institutions or European organisations. But what does it mean exactly, how Pro Progressione is related to it, and how you can contribute to this new movement? Find out the answers from this blog post!
NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS – WHAT’S IN IT FOR US?
This 3-minute video from Ursula von der Leyen summarizes well the main purpose of the movement:
But what is actually behind these quite loose terms such as sustainability, inclusivity and aesthetics?
This question is to be answered by us, the European citizens. The New European Bauhaus movement is a collective process and a platform for idea and knowledge sharing. Anyone can contribute to this new exciting European movement and have a say in the co-design of the whole concept!
THE THREE PHASES OF THE MOVEMENT
The New European Bauhaus unfolds in three phases: Co-design, Delivery and Dissemination.
Until Summer 2021, in the co-design phase we start shaping the movement by gathering and connecting what we all consider concrete contemporary examples that showcase principles of the New European Bauhaus. From September 2021 onward, the delivery phase will start with the setup and implementation of New European Bauhaus pilots, supported by specific calls for proposals. From January 2023 onward, in the third Dissemination phase, the focus will be on amplifying the ideas and actions that emerged and reaching a broader audience in Europe and beyond. This last phase will be about networking and systematically sharing knowledge between participants and practitioners.
PRO PROGRESSIONE AND THE NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS
In April 2021, Pro Progressione has been selected as an official partner of the New European Bauhaus movement in which we team up with a wide range of inspiring networks, associations, and organizations across Europe. In this new European movement, we act as community managers, sounding boards and key interlocutors to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future. So far, we have participated in two partner meetings where we had a chance to learn more about the movement and make connections with the NEB community. In the framework of the New European Bauhaus conference, we were invited to participate in high-level brainstorming workshops organized exclusively for official partners. During these workshops, we could exchange knowledge and experiences with the other NEB partners. Barna Petrányi shared these inspiring experiences that we gained thanks to NEB during a roundtable discussion in Európa Pont, which was part of the ‘Future of Europe’ discussion series.
WAYS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE MOVEMENT
What would beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places be like? How should we live together after the world pandemic? How to make Europe greener? If you have ever wondering about these questions, your time has come! You can now share your thoughts with a wide European community.
There are several ways to contribute to the co-design of the New European Bauhaus:
