🏡Ecovillages and similar communities are places where people experiment with sustainable living. More often than not, they are home to creatives. Typically, creative visioning is what drives their development in the first place, and they often use art and culture to connect with their neighbours and a wider public. For example, Green Academy Episode 4 features community design researcher Rui Vasques and the Eco Campus of 🌎Live With Earth Association (www.livewithearth.org)🌎 in Portugal. What is your experience of eco-communities as creative spaces? What questions would you like to ask about the topic?
The Green Academy helps participants share knowledge at the intersection of art and environmentalism. While our seminar series focuses on individual guest speakers, our Network Café sessions are a space for many-voiced conversations around given topics. We invite you to drop by and make new connections. You’re welcome to bring your drink of choice.
Be prepared to introduce yourself briefly. If you’d like to showcase your relevant experience in a mini-presentation (no longer than three minutes), please pitch it to us at dezsi.fruzsina(at)proprogressione.com.
The Green Academy Networking Café is organised in collaboration with the Sustainable Europe Research Institute Germany (SERI.de)
Pro Progressione’s Green Pillar emphasizes the integration of artistic practices with the more-than-human environment. We lead and collaborate on various projects, focusing on sustainability and connecting artists with critical environmental issues.
Although these events are directly linked to projects such as The Big Green, we aim to provide an open platform for the cultural and creative sectors, inviting our partners to join the Academy.
Following our 2024 pilot phase, we plan to organize five more lectures next year. These events are open to registered participants and offer not only learning experiences but also the opportunity to form a community of professionals dedicated to environmentally conscious art.
If you would like to attend, you can register here: https://forms.gle/QiFSnJwV1Cknfqrj7
(After registration, we’ll send you the Zoom link some days before the event)
