DECOLONIAL BOTANICAL SONGBOOK – SOUND EXPLORATION WORKSHOP

with Rocío Guerrero Marín

What if plants could be listened to as carriers of memory?
What if the body became a resonant archive?
What if sound could hold stories of extraction, resistance, and care?

This workshop is part of the Decolonial Botanical Songbook project by Chilean artist Rocío Guerrero Marín. Together, we will explore the histories of threatened plant species and reflect on environmental colonialism through collective artistic practice.

Through creative writing and bodily sound exploration, participants will experiment with words, voice, and presence. Using the body as a resonating instrument, we will co-create an abstract soundscape inspired by plant stories and shared listening.

This is an intimate, performative and experimental space.
No prior experience is required — only curiosity and openness.

✦ What we will do
– individual and collective creative writing exercises
– voice and body-based sound exploration
– collective composition of a soundscape
– shared listening and presence
