When we imagine an art commissioner or patron, we usually think of a wealthy, influential person or institution selecting works of art with (or without) curators and experts specializing in public exhibition…
Date: 12 May 13:00-17:30
Venue: Bethlen Téri Theatre
But what happens when the “privilege” of an artistic commission falls into the hands of community members? How does it affect artistic content if the desire and taste for art comes from people who are “among us” and do not have a higher education in any branch of art or professional experience in the process of curating or artistic assignment.
In the DemArt project, 3 residents of Erzsébetváros, as art curators, selected 3 artists in the first round to create project plans for their site-specific artworks. After the project design presentation event, taking into account the feedback of the participants, the artist who will create their artwork will be selected.
If you are interested in this process, come to the presentation of the art project plans of the DemArt project!
Take part in shaping the cultural life of the 7th district (Erzsébetváros)!
